Week 3 Bathroom Remodel Progress
Well, in true renovation fashion, we hit a snag on our bathroom remodel. If you are just tuning into this post, you can check out Week One and Week Two of the Jeffrey Court Renovation Challenge where we are remodeling our entire bathroom.
As I was saying, this week we hit a speed bump in our renovation progress. Last week we started freaking out because we didn’t like the shower pan we chose for our shower. It felt a little “mushy” or bouncy when you stood on it. Not a very safe feeling when you are standing naked in a shower! We figured out that if we glued the bottom of the pan to the floor with Liquid Nails and set a bunch of weight on top, it no longer bounced. Thank goodness our tile showed up, because we used that as the weight.
This week’s accomplishments:
- Installed cement board
- Waterproofed the shower
- Installed the shower pan
- Installed the floor cement board
- Patched the walls
- Drywalled where the old mirror was installed
- Ordered our vanity
- Installed the shower tile
I am so excited about the shower tile pattern! I knew I wanted a herringbone pattern, but wasn’t sure how I wanted to orient the herringbone- at an angle or in an L-shape. I put up a poll on Instagram Stories, and my audience was tied. I ended up going with my gut, and oriented the tile in an L-shape.
Do you love it?
We have a lot of work ahead of us this upcoming week, so stay tuned to my Instagram Stories to see the latest!
